Pizza Bites: Best Pet Travel Gear of 2012

Best Pet Travel Gear 2012 BadgeThis is the third day of our week-long extravaganza announcing GoPetFriendly.com’s Best Pet Travel Gear awards!

Living full-time in an RV with our dogs has in no way insulated us from the compulsion to collect gear – in fact, it may have made it worse. We’re obsessed with anything that might make traveling with the boys easier and more fun. Some things work out better than others – and a few are now on our “must have” list.

What’s a product need to make us pant? It has to be easy to use, durable, a good value for the money, and somehow improve our pet travel experience. If you can’t run with the big dogs, it’s best to stay on the porch. Ty and Buster have high standards and these products have passed their dogmatic tests with flying colors.

Check your calendar and you’ll see the unofficial end of summer quickly approaching – so we’re doing things up right! Every day this week we’ll announce another recipient of our Best Pet Travel Gear 2012 award – and give you the chance to win! Today  the boys are drooling over Pizza Bites.

Yesterday we touted our “must have” treat bag … today we’re showing you what to put inside. Perhaps you wouldn’t consider dog treats to be gear,  but in our (rolling) house, bribery gets you everywhere. Want Buster to stop barking? Bribe him. Want Ty to stop pulling on the leash? Bribe him. It’s a simple formula, but it requires some really tasty treats and our boys can’t resist Pizza Bites!

We humans love these “On The Go” dog treats by Bark4Green because they’re made in the USA with human-grade ingredients, they have no chemicals, no artificial preservatives, flavors, or colors, and there are no hormones or antibiotics in the ingredients they use. With no wheat, corn or soy, they’re even good for dogs with allergies! They smell … well, like pizza … and come in a small size that is easy to snap in two if you’re looking for training-sized treats.

What’s most important though, is that the dogs like them. To give you an idea of Ty and Buster’s level of devotion, we’ve started referring to these little delights as “doggy crack.” For the quality you’re getting, the price is great – a three bag pack, each of which contains 18-20 small bone-shaped bites, runs $5 on the Bark4Green website.

Disclosure: Much to Ty and Buster’s droolight, Bark4Green sends them some treats when they ship us samples to hand out as we travel. The opinions expressed here are my honest assessment of the product based on my personal experience using it. Bark4Green will send the free dog treats to the winners of this contest.
