I love this time of year! Athletes from around the country are giving it their all in the NCAA tournament – and things are similar here in our pet friendly version of March Madness. We’ve had some electrifying match-ups come right down to the wire in the 2016 battle for the Best City for Pet Travelers title.
And the timing is perfect – we’ll be wrapping up this competition just as families start making their summer travel plans. Any of the nominated cities would make a great pet friendly vacation destination for the whole family, but if you’re looking for the best … numero uno … the top dog … stay tuned, because the contenders have been narrowed from 110 down to four, and there are only two rounds left until the winner is decided!
Boulder, Colorado (Megan S.) – Hiking in the Flatirons, stopping for a splash in Boulder Creek, and then parking your tail on a pet friendly patio for a for a mouth-watering bite to eat … most pooches would agree, Boulder’s topnotch!
Charleston, South Carolina (Cathy B.) – Not only is Charleston steeped in history and southern charm, it has 40 pet friendly restaurants, 3 pet friendly beaches, and 34 pet friendly attractions – even the mayor is a dog lover!
Colorado Springs, Colorado (Cathlin P.) – What’s not to like about this picturesque town? In the shadow of Pikes Peak, Colorado Springs offers spectacular hiking, great shopping, plenty of dog friendly breweries, and perfect summer days!
Saint Augustine, Florida (Brittany H.)– As the oldest city in the U.S., St. Augustine has a history like few other places. Strolling the historic streets, catching a wave on the dog friendly beaches, and kicking back at a sweet hotel – it’s a dog’s picture of perfection!
The winner of each match-up will be finalized once the votes have been verified by our diligent authentication team. Be sure to cheer on your favorite cities throughout the tournament – voting in the Championship begins on Monday, April 4th.
The best part of this tournament is getting to support your favorite pet friendly destinations! Sharing what makes your city the pet friendliest through photos of your pets having fun is a great way to show the love. Post them on our Facebook page or tag us on Twitter, and we’ll share them, too!
This contest is open only to US and Canadian residents over the age of 18, excluding Quebec and where prohibited by law.
