We understand! You want to spend a day relaxing and enjoying the rides with your kids. But that’s not possible if you’re worried about the furry members of your family. Locating theme parks and tours that provide kennels where their guests’ pets will be safe and comfortable could help you decide where to spend your family vacation.

U.S. Theme Parks And Tours With Pet Kennels By State

Just because your vacation plan includes a day at a theme park or tour that isn’t pet friendly doesn’t mean you should leave your best furry friend at home! There will be a lot of experiences you will get to enjoy together during the trip. And, if you choose one of these theme parks or tours with pet kennels, your pup will have a nice place to hang out for the day.

Arizona

The pet kennels at the Grand Canyon are open every day from 7:30am to 5pm. Located on the South Rim near Maswik Lodge, they accept dogs and cats for day or overnight boarding. Reservations are recommended, especially during the summer months and holidays. And don’t forget to bring your pet’s vaccination records!

The kennel at Six Flags Magic Mountain is free and located in the main parking lot. See a parking attendant for the location. Los Angeles County requires proof of Rabies vaccination in order to board your pet, so be sure to bring all documentation with you to the park. Pets cannot be left in unattended vehicles while you visit the park.

The Kennedy Space Center offers a free, climate-controlled kennel for their visitors. Ask a crew member at the entrance for assistance to access the kennel.

Water, bowls, and waste bags are available, and you’re welcome to bring food, treats, and toys for your pet. Reservations are not accepted, and no overnight accommodations are available. When checking in with your pet, please provide the following:

  • valid government-issued ID for pet ownership verification
  • proof of current vaccinations
  • veterinarian contact information
  • emergency contact information for someone NOT in the space center complex
  • a leash (non-retractable and 6 feet or less) or pet carrier
  • a collar with identification tags

SeaWorld

There are 31 pet kennels at SeaWorld Orlando, ranging in size from small to extra large. They are available on a first-come, first-served basis and are located at the front entrance of SeaWorld Orlando, on the right hand side of the entry plaza.

The climate-controlled kennels are staffed from the time the park opens until 1/2 hour after the park closes. Please have a copy of your pet’s vaccination record available when checking in. You are responsible for walking your dog during the day, and can bring a blanket or bed, food and treats for your pet. The $15 per day ($10 for pass members) fee must be paid with credit. Cash is not accepted.

Walt Disney World Resorts

Best Friends Pet Hotel at Walt Disney World is a luxury, full-service pet resort with a wide range of activities, amenities and extras. Located across from Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside Resort, the complex features 17,000 square feet of air-conditioned indoor space, 10,000 square feet of covered outdoor runs and play areas, and a 25,000 square-foot dog park. Accommodating up to 300 dogs, cats, and pocket pets, it also includes a full-service grooming salon and two 1,100-square foot doggy daycare rooms.

Choose from overnight or daily visits. Fees vary depending on the services selected. Pets must have written proof of vaccination. Dogs must be up to date on Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella. Cats must have current FVRCP and Rabies vaccinations.

Busch Gardens

Busch Gardens provides on-site kennels at the front of the main parking lot across from the first tram stop. The air-conditioned facility is staffed during park hours, and the cost is $25 per pet, per day ($10.00 for Pass Members, excluding Fun Card holders).

Proof of vaccinations and a current Rabies tag must be provided. You’re responsible for walking your dog during the day. You can bring a blanket for your pet.

Georgia

Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari provides both air-conditioned and outdoor kennel in varying sizes at Holidog Inn. Available on a first-come, first-served basis, the kennel fees are $25 per day indoors and $15 per day outdoors. If two pets share a kennel, there is a $10 fee for the additional pet.

Check-in is at Holiday World Services, and the kennel is staffed and open during park hours. Owners must provide proof of vaccinations and walk their pets during the day. You can bring a blanket, food, and treats for your pet.

Kentucky

Mammoth Cave National Park

Located at the Lodge at Mammoth Cave, these outdoor, partially-covered, unattended kennels are available on a first-come, first-served basis from sunrise to sunset. To check in, take your dog or cat’s vaccination records for Rabies, Bordetella and DAP to the Front Desk.

The cost is $3.50 for the first hour, and $1 per hour thereafter. You can bring your pet’s food, water, and toys into the kennel, and a water spigot is located next to the kennels.

Please note: Mammoth Cave National Park has a presence of ticks and other insects. Pet owners are advised to prepare for their visit by speaking with their vet and following any recommended measures such as tick preventatives.

New Hampshire

Story Land provides complimentary, self-service kennels on a first-come, first-served basis. The 26 outdoor, covered kennels are located next to the train depot on the north end of the main parking lot.

To check-in, visit the kennels and choose the one you would like. Then visit Yum Yum Junction (ring the doorbell) to receive a lock code. Water bowls are available, but you should bring any items your pet needs to be comfortable. Also, plan to walk your pet during the day.

 

New Mexico

Carlsbad Caverns National Park

The park concessioner, Carlsbad Caverns Trading Company, operates an unattended, temperature-controlled kennel service at Carlsbad Caverns. Available on a first-come, first-served basis, the cost is $15 per pet, per day.

Operating from 8am to 3:30pm, owners are required to show a copy of the pet’s rabies vaccination record with the expiration date when boarding a pet. Rabies tags don’t meet this requirement and won’t be accepted.

Water is provided, and owners are welcome to bring their pet’s food or bedding.

North Carolina

Leashed pets are welcome to enjoy grounds and gardens with you at Biltmore Estate. However, they cannot go inside Biltmore House or other buildings. Biltmore provides a very limited number of outdoor, unattended kennels for your use. They are self-service and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

To access the kennels, see a parking host upon your arrival at the estate. You should bring your pet’s bowls, water, food and any items your pet needs to be comfortable. Also, if you’ll be leaving him long, plan to walk your pet during the day.

Each cage or run has water provided, and you can bring a blanket, food, treats, and toys for your pet. Overnight boarding is not available, and you must walk your pet during the day.

Oregon

Pennsylvania

Hershey Amusement Park

Hershey Park welcomes pets in their “Barking Lot” from mid-May through mid-September and during special events. Located under the West Stand of Hersheypark Stadium near the park entrance, space is available on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Owners must show vaccination certificates for Rabies, Distemper, and Bordetella for all dogs. And pets must be flea/tick free when checking in. Overnight boarding is not available, and pets cannot be left in vehicles.

Knoebel’s Grove Amusement Park

Well-behaved, leashed pets are welcome at Knoebel’s. Owners are responsible for controlling and cleaning up after them, as well as considering how their pet will react to an amusement park environment. Pets cannot go in any covered dining areas or pool area.

Ruby Falls provides four shaded, complimentary kennels on a first-come, first-served basis. Kennel locks are available at the ticket counter, or you can bring your own. Small animals, or animals that might try to escape, should be placed inside a pet crate or carrier before being placed in the kennel.

DollyWood

DollyWood theme park provides pet kennels for guests of Dollywood or Dollywood’s Splash Country. Located adjacent to Guest Services at Dollywood’s Front Gate, space is limited and reservations are recommended.

Dogs can check in at Doggywood 30 minutes prior to Dollywood’s published opening time. They must be picked up within 15 minutes of the park closing. No overnight accommodations are available.

Fees are $25 per day for the kennel runs and $35 per day for the cottages. Dogs can share a kennel or cottage if they live in the same house; a $5 fee will apply for each additional occupant. The total weight of dog(s) in each cottage must be 19 pounds or less.

You’ll need to walk your dog during during the day and provide your pet’s food and vaccination certificate for Rabies and Bordatella. Dogs who are ineligible or unable to receive their Rabies or Bordetella vaccines cannot be boarded at Doggywood. No exceptions.

 

Texas

Seaworld San Antonio’s complimentary pet kennels are outdoor, covered, and unattended. Available on a first-come, first-served basis, the kennels are off the main guest parking lot (upon entering the parking lot, take either the first or second road to the right; the kennels are located to the far left).

Bowls and water are available onsite, and kennel locks are keys are provided. You can bring a blanket, food, and snacks for your pet, and should plan to walk and provide water for him throughout the day. Overnight accommodations are not available.

Six Flags Fiesta Texas

Pet owners are responsible for cleaning up of their pets. Lagoon is neither in control of nor responsible for the behavior of a guest’s animal, including any damage or injury resulting from a guest’s animal.

Virginia

The King’s Dominion Pet Care Center is located outside the Front Gate and opens during park hours. The fee is $20 per pet, per day.

Busch Gardens And Water Country USA

Reservations are recommended for Busch Gardens’ climate-controlled pet care facility. The fee is $10 per pet, per day and includes preferred parking in the England lot.

While the kennels are attended, the staff can only provide water and notify you if your pet is in distress. You’re responsible for walking your dog during the day, and should bring any times to make your pet more comfortable.
