A Medley for Blog the Change for Animals

Blog the ChangeWe’re happy to participate in BtC4Animal‘s quarterly Blog the Change event and dedicate our space to thoughts of making the world a better place for animals. We had a hard time choosing a topic to blog about, so we decided to go with several …

Spring Into Action

Spring Naturals, a newly launched pet food line, will be kicking off their “Spring Into Action” program in May. Their goal is to recognize outstanding community members that are making a difference in the lives of animals in need. In addition to honoring animal advocates on their Facebook page, they will also acknowledge the animal rescue group of the everyday hero’s choice. After twelve months, one of the nominated animal rescue groups will receive $2,000 in Spring Naturals dog food plus a $500 cash donation.

Keep an eye on the Spring Naturals website for more information on nominating your favorite animal hero for the “Spring Into Action” program.

Daffy Needs Help

Ingrid, who had been praying for years for the right dog to enter her life after her beloved Dachshund BetsyRoss passed away, didn’t adopt Daffy the first time she met the dog because the pup didn’t seem like a good match. Eight months later, when the same dog crossed her path again, she realized a greater power had chosen Daffy for her.

Daffy has a second chance at life, but now she’s suffering from a mysterious illness. Her owner asked for prayers, but The Barkers Dozen has launched a “Dollars for Daffy” fundraiser. During the month of April, the organic dog treat baker will donate 50% of the profits from sales of its treats on their online store to help get Daffy treatment. Plus, when customers use the promo code “DAFFY” at checkout, they will receive a special thank you gift. For those who do not wish to purchase treats, but would still like to donate, there is also a Chipin widget available.

Rockin’ For Rescue

Readers in the Chicago area, plan to spend May 19th enjoying some fantastic music and raising money for animals in need. The Trio Animal Foundation (TAF) is hosting its second annual Rockin’ for Rescue event at the historic Double Door rock club featuring live music by Dr. Bombay, one of Chicago’s top party bands, and the tween all-girl rock group Purple Apple, currently recording a new EP.

The event includes an open bar and gourmet food by All on the Road Catering and local celebrity chef, Doug Sohn of Hot Doug’s. Exciting raffle items will be available at the event, as well as a limited number of “doggie” bags for attendees to take home and enjoy with their furry loved ones. Tickets are $100 and can be purchased here or contact Jill Cahr at 312-550-0092 or [email protected].

Baxter & Birdie

I learned about this cool company handcrafting dog collars, leashes, and accessories from factory scraps and overstocked fabrics right here in the US. But, what’s really cool is their “Buy One, Feed One” campaign – every time you purchase a Baxter & Birdie product, you feed one shelter animal in need for one week! You support the environment and helps other pups in need – and your pooch looks gosh darn fabulous doing it!

This is a blog hop … enjoy these other posts on helping animals:
