We started with 64 cities, and you’ve narrowed the field down to just two. Duluth, Minnesota, on the shores of beautiful Lake Superior, will take on St. George Island, Florida, with it’s spectacular setting in the Gulf of Mexico. This one is certain to come down to the wire – and your votes will determine which city comes out on top in the 2018 Best City for Pet Travelers tournament!
Duluth is a place unlike any other, perched on the western tip of Lake Superior, the largest freshwater lake in the world. The horizon expands as far as the eye can see from the Lakewalk path along the shore, and the nearby rocky cliffs and pristine forests boast miles of trails to explore. Whether you’re here to enjoy the lake, kick back at one of the many pet friendly restaurants in Canal Park, or take a drive up the North shore, you won’t be disappointed.
Beautiful St. George is a 22-mile barrier island that floats in the Gulf of Mexico like an unspoiled emerald jewel. Get in touch with nature by setting up camp and hitting the hiking trails at St. George Island State Park. And when you’re ready to hang on the beach, head back into town where the entire public beach is pet friendly and dogs are welcome every day, year-round. For dinner, choose from St. George’s variety of eateries to enjoy the freshest local seafood.
The winner of the contest will be finalized once the votes have been verified by our authentication team, and the winner will be announced on Thursday, April 5th, 2018.
The best part of this tournament is getting to support your favorite pet friendly destinations! Sharing what makes your city the pet friendliest by posting photos of your pets having fun is a great way to show the love. Post them on our Facebook page or tag us on Instagram, and we’ll share them, too!
