Wow … a week goes by fast! Time to bone up on what you missed – there are several interesting stories to share.
OK. So if you live in the US, the blizzard of 2010 was pretty much THE story of the week. From our friends at Petopia.tv, check out how some people on the East Coast dealt with the storm and how some pets actually enjoyed the snow.
And of course this is Valentine Week. Pet News and Views ran a week-long romantic tribute to people and their pets, which included great tips to help new poochie pals get along and tips for introducing new feline friends.
Confused about what to feed your dog? RAW and BARF and Kibble – oh my! Jim McBean of Doggy Bytes fame extends his canine nutrition body of knowledge by explaining why your dog has nothing to fear from salmonella. Still not convinced? But you’d like to be more in charge of what you feed Fido? Then how about designing your own pet food and having it delivered to your door? Read what Red Moon Pet Food Fresh is doing over at Dancing Dog Blog.
We don’t fly with our dogs. That doesn’t mean you can’t or shouldn’t – and it seems like fellow pet travel blogger Dog Jaunt has it down to a science. But, if you were wondering which US airports are the most pet friendly the top 10 list was published this week.

And lastly, some good news for all of us with a self-interest in the health of the pet industry. In an economy where some businesses are struggling to simply stay afloat, pet expenditures (food, supplies, veterinary care, live animal purchases, and grooming/boarding services) increased from $43.2 B in 2008 to $45.5 B in 2009. In 2010, spending is expected to reach $47.74 billion. Woof!
