We met up with a great friend for lunch in the village of Willoughby. What a cute town … hanging flower baskets from every lamp post (even in this economy). The stretch along Spaulding Ave is a cornucopia of boutiques and artisan shops – I felt like we time traveled back to the late early 1960s retail scene. We ate at Aribica (corner of Spaulding Ave & Erie St), a coffee shop in a former hardware store that has outdoor seating, WiFi and awesome desserts, too.
Just across the street is a large dog friendly park complete with a pet waste station. There were several benches and shade trees galore to enjoy a relaxing moment with your best friend.
Later, our friend cooked dinner for us – a filling Mexican, vegetarian lasagna. We ended the day in the town of Euclid at the Henn Mansion in Sims Park (Lakeshore Blvd & East 222nd St) watching the sunset over Lake Erie. This was a wonderfully easy, dog friendly day.
