  • Me too, Cathy!! Cindy’s suggestion of checking VRBO or Home Away is a good place to start.

  • I completely understand, Carole. I feel the same way about Ty and Buster – flying on a plane in cargo would be way to scary for them … and therefore, for me.

  • You’re awesome, Deb! It’s great that you’re doing everything you can to make sure businesses know that pet travelers are responsible and considerate. Bravo!

  • totally understand…we have 4 dogs..all under 20 lbs..we have rented this cottage for so many years..the owner waves a good part of the fee.

  • check VRBO..vacation rentals by owner..put pet friendly in filter..good luck

  • When I travel by car, my greyhound goes with me; however, I’d never put her into the hold of an airplane.

  • I wish there were more dog friendly rentals an beaches on the east coast.

  • We rent dog friendly houses on the Jersey Shore and in Maine. (It is easier to find them in Maine than in Jersey.) I am always so grateful that the owners allow us to bring our dog (a 70lb german shepherd/sharpie mix), that I end up spending the last day of vacation cleaning! It’s not that we ever make a big mess, it’s just that I don’t ever want to ruin it for anyone else!
