Take Your Dog To The Ball Game – 2012

The crack of the bat, the roar of the crowd … nothing says Spring like a baseball. And what could be better than sharing America’s favorite past-time with man’s best friend?

Baseball Puppy

Known as “Bark in the Park” or “Dog Days,” major league ball parks across the nation are offering more dog friendly baseball games than ever before. This season your pup will be welcome to take in a game at 16 different stadiums … is anyone else thinking dog friendly road trip?!?

Not only are these events a lot of fun, a portion of the proceeds generally benefits local shelters or rescues. If your dog is ready to ruff, ruff, ruff  for the home team, check out the 2012 MLB schedule of dog friendly baseball games and get your tickets now!

Each stadium has their own requirements for vaccinations and other particulars. Be sure to visit their website or call the ticket office to confirm the details. And remember, many minor league baseball teams have similar “Bark at the Park” promotions. Check them out, too!

What do you think – would your dog want to go to a baseball game? Of course, there would also be hot dogs to share!

Dog Braggin’ – Florida tops the Bark in the Ball Park events with minor league teams playing throughout the summer. Tampa Yankees have been hosting one every year for the past 6-7 years. Bradenton Marauders have hosted one every month throughout the summer this year. And a big surprise for all, the Tampa Bay Rays are hosting one at Tropicana Field on Sunday, August 5. THE NEW BARKER dog magazine covers alot of these games and events, and will be at the Trop.

  • Great in theory… BUT why are so many scheduled for DAY games at 1pm… when DOGS would be much cooler and comfortable at either 4pm or 7pm game. It is just TOO hot in August at 1pm… IMHO.

  • Great list! I wish the Yankees would do one. D.C. isn’t that far, so maybe I’ll take Toby to a Nationals game!

  • Looks so fun! I’m a huge baseball fan, but unfortunately Bella’s carsickness makes her less than portable…

  • What a cool idea! I’ve never really been a big baseball fan but if this becomes a trend I may change my mind!
